4 sessions:
M/W, Dec 7, 9 & 14, 16
Screen Painting virtually* with Clare Chesnavage on December 7, 9, 14, 16 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Painted screens are canvases with holes. Imagine a window or door screen with a picture painted on the exterior side only. The paint does not cover or clog the holes. The colorful image stops the gaze of people on the sidewalk from seeing inside the darkened room. The view to the street from the house is unobstructed. The screen still functions perfectly for ventilation and as a barrier to flying insects. These screens originated in Baltimore neighborhoods in 1913. You will create your own painting on a screen. Supplies may be picked up at the Lifelong Learning Office.
Cost is $60 per class for Silver members; Free to Gold members; plus $15 for supplies.
To register, contact Karen Rice at krice@shepherd.edu or 304-876-5135.
